Journey in my Head

At the moment I'm in the middle of a journey - of various kinds. I've changed my job; well, not my job exactly, I'm doing the same thing for another educational institution. However, in order to change employers, I have to move some thousand miles, and onto another island - my last job was on the South Island in New Zealand, and my new one is at the north end of the North Island.

Travelling is good "head space", and I've started some interesting lines of thought on this journey. One is how I can maximize my potential for business consultancy during my time in this new job. I'm determined that I could use my network of MBA graduates, both as potential clients and as consultants themselves. Geographical distance is no real barrier, so I'm scheming about what to do and how to do it.

Watch this space!

Everyone thinks of New Zealand as a small country and yet it’s amazing quite how far one end of it is from the other. Much bigger than the UK for example, which everyone thinks is much larger. Could be something to do with the number of people I guess.
As to the MBAs and consultancy: if distance is, as you say, no bar to the creation of the MBA network, then it shouldn’t be a bar to the exploitation of said MBA network.
In fact, if you’re know up near Auckland that might be a boon: the one thing about such networks is that customers do sometimes actually want to meet the person selling the services: there’s more businesses up there than at the end of South Island.
It’s also warmer which is a plus.
