Well, I’m not sure there Mary. Sure, having an MBA is a great start to a career and provides a superb basis for building a network, as you’vemade clear. Important things of course but that doesn’t mean that the world only needs MBA graduates.
I mean let’s be honest, some of my best friends are barmen and they tend not to have advanced degrees from anywhere other than the University of Life. We also have a deep and desperate need for liberal arts graduates: who else will ask me if I want fries with that?
So that’s what we actually need, a judicious mix in our social lives. The MBA types to make money with and the Arts and Life graduates to handle the cash while we spend it.
Or is this being just a tad too, too, cynical?
