Online MBA ForumThursday, December 15, 2005MBA Personalities
The kind of person who is motivated to study for an online MBA is often driven by ambition, and a belief that they could change the organization that they work for for the better, according to the Learning Consultancy. They are assertive, and they want to have recognition for the abilities they believe they have.
By studying an MBA they can acquire not only a qualification that is recognized as being ideally suited to many business and management positions, they also gain knowledge that they otherwise would find it difficult to acquire. But most importantly they are taught to analyse a situation, and use that analysis and the knowledge that they need to synthesize new solutions, and in many cases new ways of thinking about a situation. This is the real benefit of studying for an MBA, and the kind of ability that industry is willing to pay well for. Wednesday, December 14, 2005Seasonal MBA
I was looking at an MBA that dealt with the logistics industry today. It occurred to me in an idle moment that this would be a required qualification for Santa and a preferred one for the lead Elf.
However, as the latest theory of meeting the delivery criteria for Christmas Eve requires an in-depth knowledge of quantum physics, including how best to use the 11 (or possibly 26) dimensions that are thought to be involved in particle physics, there may be some interesting inter-faculty involvement in the appropriate MBA programme. It could be possible to include a course in time-management (as time probably does not exist except in our perception of the universe). Of course, if we consider the distribution of presents as being a case of entropic gain, we could theorize that the presents were distributed in the past, but only in another less organized universe. But that's getting a little silly, isn't it? Sunday, December 11, 2005On the MBA Fast-Track
Online MBAs decrease the time that it takes for you to get a job. According to the Learning Consultancy, research shows that the response time from applying for a job and getting that all important first interview is reduced from around three weeks to two.
You are also more likely to get an interview. Your MBA will increase your success rate from 32% with a Bachelor's degree to 41% with an MBA. So that investment starts to pay back almost before the end of your course. You not only have the choice of more jobs, you're likely to get your jobs faster. Archives
