I've just finished a conversation with one of my colleagues who works, as I do, in New Zealand. She wants to study for an MBA, and although there are several reputable universities that offer good MBAs here, they do not offer satisfactory online programs. My colleague needs to work full time so she really needs an online provider in order to be able to study and work. She also knows that if she gains her MBA she will be in line for the senior management levels of her organization - and other career prospects both in New Zealand and in other countries.
She asked me how I would solve the problem, knowing that I write about education, and so I suggested that she consider studying an online program from an American university. She's just emailed me to say that she's identified some 9 programs that would meet her specification, and so we are going to work out a matrix to help her choose the best program for her.
Now that's what I call global education!
