The Do's and Don'ts of MBA Admission

When it comes to MBA admission, most candidates are more than willing to do whatever it takes to impress the MBA admission officers. What are some good and bad ideas when preparing your MBA admission packet? Here are a few ways to increase your chances of making a good impression.
Do:

  • Be yourself. Write an MBA admission essay that presents who you are, what you're about, and what you expect from business school.

  • Show respect to MBA admission officers. Turn off your cell phone during interviews, ask questions, be engaging, but not overly aggressive.

Don't:

  • Don't be overly clever. Give MBA admission officers what they want first, then spend time making the presentation interesting.

  • Don't forget to check your MBA admission essay for spelling and grammar.
