Few people have the luxury of taking two or three years off from our current jobs in order to enter a MBA degree program. Fortunately, there are many MBA degree programs designed for busy professionals. Distance learning and other online MBA degree programs allow students to pursue a MBA degree from anywhere in the world.
Distance learning MBA degree programs can be taught through correspondence courses or virtual classrooms on the Internet. Choosing a distance learning MBA degree program has both benefits and hindrances. While the flexible schedule is a major draw, choosing to pursue an MBA through distance learning means you'll miss out on some of the social components of traditional education. If classroom discussion, personalized interaction, or self-motivation are essential to your educational success, you probably wouldn't do well in a distance learning MBA program. Of course, if distance learning is your only option, there are a number of online MBA programs that combine virtual classrooms with face-to-face meetings between students and staff.
Before choosing an online MBA program, make sure you thoroughly investigate the school. Most importantly, check to ensure the program is accredited by an accrediting agency or State approved agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.
