According to a recent report survey by the outplacement firm Challenger, Gray & Christmas, there is a great deal of evidence to suggest our economy is turning the proverbial corner. One piece of evidence is the fact that managers and executives who found work in the fourth quarter of 2004 landed their new jobs at the fastest pace (average length of time: 3.3 months) in more than three years.
It would probably be safe to assume that many of these managers and executives have an advanced degree such as an MBA. While many professionals can see the value of completing an MBA program, many are unwilling to quit good jobs to do it. At least, that is the idea that prevents many professionals from leaving good jobs to pursue an MBA degree. Some find losing a good job to go back to school too high a risk and consequently they do nothing to improve their chances of advancement.
Of course, many professionals continue to work while pursuing their MBA. That's where distance learning MBA programs come in. The upside of an online MBA program is the flexibility not often found in traditional MBA programs. Many such programs are designed for busy professionals and can be completed in a shorter amount of time than traditional programs. Online MBA programs might be the best way to make 2005 the year of YOUR MBA.
