MBA School Rankings: What to Consider

  1. Student to Faculty Ratio. What is the average student to faculty ratio in the program you are interested in? The lower the student to faculty ratio, the better off you will be.
  2. GMAT Exam. What is the average score on the GMAT exam? How do your GMAT exam scores compare?
  3. MBA Degree Focus. What are the available areas of specialty? What is the background of the faculty in that particular area? Do they have experience similar to that which you are hoping to gain?
  4. Criteria for Admission. Strict standards for admission mean top notch students.


  5. Job Placement and Student Preparedness. One of the most important things you will want to consider is where students wind up after they complete their MBA degree. Do their achievements match your expectations for yourself once you complete your MBA degree?
  6. Alumni Network. Another critical consideration is the alumni network a school boasts. This represents the network of people you will be connected with. Will they be useful to you professionally and intellectually?
  7. Alumni Salary Information. When you complete your degree, you will be expecting to earn a good salary. One indication of what you can expect is the average salaries of graduating students. Is that acceptable to you?
  8. Quality of Life. What does data collected from students say about the quality of life at the school you are interested in?
  9. Facilities. What kind of facilities does the campus have? Will internet access be a key component to making your academic experience better or will a fully equipped library be more important?
  10. Diversity. Where are your fellow students from? The MBA degree can be very international in focus and having a diverse group of people can deeply enrich your experience.
